Description

1972 Pontiac Ventura in Flat Black for sale! This is a true 8-second street car that was built for endurance drag racing, it's completed Rocky Mountain Race Week 4 times with no failures. The owner has put over 18K miles on the car with the Holley EFI and turbo LS setup. There's only 7K miles on the current forged 5.3L that's paired with a F.I S485 turbo, and mated to a SFI case TH400 transmission (recently built this past winter). It's also equipped with a pneumatic exhaust valve that blocks off the 5" fender exit and forces it through a single 2.5" exhaust over the axle to an OEM style muffler. This makes the car sound stock, and it's great for long drives. All upgrades (minus the chromoly 8.5 cage) were installed by the owner throughout his 15 years of ownership, and tuning was handled by him as well. The car was only on the dyno for initial tuning just to check everything, it made around 700whp on 16Ibs of boost. As for track times, it's ran a 5.7 in the 1/8-mile and an 8.9 @ 151mph in the 1/4-mile on a 26x8.5 pro bracket radial. The floor pans are very solid, there's a small amount of rust in the trunk pan, however all panels (fenders, doors, rockers) are solid. The owner painted the car flat black with Hotrod Flatz and it looks okay, there are some dry spots and imperfections. The quarter lips have some rust, but it's not horrible. If you want to put a nice gloss paint job on the car, the owner recommends repairing the rear wheel well lips or do half quarters. It's a great reliable street car, the owner just has another project, and he's going a different direction. Over $40K in parts alone! Clean title!
